How to Stop Accepting Your Life and Start Embracing It
The MAGIC in moving from ACCEPTING to EMBRACING:
Consider how much effort, energy, and manipulation is happening to force the mind, which is built upon fear, and the need to keep you safe, to “accept” — when that truly doesn’t feel safe for the mind, and often times it creates more fear.
In fact, this behaviour of “accepting” spirals the mind into states of denial, anger, and making deals (with itself). Instead of seeing a different perspective, the mind thinks up coping and managing strategies to “accept” what it really doesn’t want to.
The alternative: EMBRACING!
Imagine that embracing is always happening in your heart.
Universal consciousness (within you) is in a constant state of embracing whatever is naturally unfolding in life.
ACCEPTING to EMBRACING —> In action!
Tune into your body.
Recall a time in your life (present or past) when you tried to accept an experience, even though it did not feel right for you.
What did “accepting” feel like?
Now,
Recall a time in your life (present or past) when you truly embraced an experience unconditionally, without needing or wanting it to be different.
What did embracing feel like?
Ask yourself: how can I reliably shift from a state of “accepting” (in your head) to a place of embracing (in your heart)? List 3 ways.
If this practice is new for you, it may take some time (and additional practice) to integrate it. I encourage you to keep it up!
